Environmental Commissioner to address Land Trust Gala Dinner

January, 26, 2007

Northumberland – Gordon Miller, Ontario’s Environmental Commissioner, is set to be the key note speaker at the Annual Northumberland Land Trust (NLT) Gala Dinner.  The fund-raiser will be held February 1st at the Northumberland Heights Restaurant, 795 Northumberland Heights Road, Cobourg.

“We are looking forward to hearing the environmental commissioner’s take on land trusts and the opportunities they present for preserving natural habitats for the future,” says Dr. Doug Galt, chair of the NLT.  “It promises to be a most entertaining and informative evening.”

In addition to the commissioner’s address, a silent auction for many items related to nature will be held, as well as a dinner and social hour.  Cost for the evening is $50 per person, with a tax receipt being issued for $25 of the ticket price.  The admission fee also includes a 2007 NLT membership.

The Northumberland Land Trust is dedicated to preserving environmentally-sensitive and historically-significant lands in Northumberland County.  For tickets, or for further information, please contact NLT fund-raising chair Heidi Reid at (905) 373-4400.
